Taylor Swift just made history with ‘We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together.’ We bet she can’t believe it!
Swift’s first single from her upcoming fourth album, ‘Red,’ is on track to be the fastest selling single in iTunes history, setting records within an hour of its release. Billboard reports that the breakup anthem, which could be dedicated to any number of Swift’s short-lived and oft-vilified suitors, is expected to sell between 450,000 and 500,000 downloads.
If she surpassed Lady Gaga‘s 448,000 singles from ‘Born This Way,’ it will be the biggest ever digital debut by a female artist. In fairness to Mother Monster, however, ‘Born This Way’ debuted on a Friday, giving it a mere three days to accrue those record-making numbers (the charts are tallied and closed on Sundays), while Swift has about six days to work with.
