Longtime performer and Grand Ole Opry member Jack Greene has passed away. He was 83. Multiple reports said he passed away Thursday at his Nashville home, due to complications from Alzheimer’s disease. Jack had nine number one hits in the sixties and seventies, including perhaps his most well-known song: “There Goes My Everything.”  Jack was nicknamed  the  ”Jolly Green Giant.” Jack was born in Maryville, Tennessee, and got his start working in radio. He later got his first taste of country stardom as a drummer for the legendary Ernest Tubb as a member of the Texas Troubadours.
