The makers of Honest Tea set out kiosks stocked with the company’s organic iced tea and lemonade in 30 U.S. cities – and used the “honor system” to collect money.

The most honest city in America, according to the study, resulted in a tie between Oakland, California, and Salt Lake City, Utah. In both cities, every single person who took a bottle paid for their drink.
On the other end of the spectrum, Brooklyn, New York, was the least honest location, with just 61 percent paying for their drinks. Venice Beach, California, was the second least honest, with 76 percent dropping in a dollar.
